Standard CRC Challenge Definitions
The following challenge types use CRC's standard definitions. See the Glossary for full details.
Damageless:
- Damage is any loss of your character’s current health, regardless of the source.
- Changes to maximum health are not damage, even if they also change current health or later restore.
Deathless:
- A death is when your character fails in a way that resets progress, typically with a penalty like losing lives, items, or other resources.
Flawless:
- Damageless, Deathless, Glitchless
- [needs further updating]
Hitless:
- A hit is when an NPC or dynamic object makes contact with your character's hurtbox, causing damage or hard crowd control (Hard CC).
- Player-initiated actions that cause damage or movement are NOT hits.
Run Submission Requirements
- Full, unedited video proof is required
- Video and Audio must be clearly visible and audible.
These defaults apply while game-specific rules are under community review.
These rules have been proposed by the community and are under review. They will become official when this game moves to Active status.
General Rules A video of the run is required. Use free programs (such as with OBS) or a streaming service to record your run The video you submit must be setup to be permanent (eg YouTube, Twitch highlights). Recent Broadcasts on Twitch will auto-delete, so will not be approved When submitting a single run out of a long video with multiple runs, you must submit a timestamped URL (on YouTube you can right-click for "Copy video URL at current time". This timestamp can either link to the run start, or the prior proof of unseeded (e.g. a death). If a timestamped URL is not possible, include a precise timestamp in the description. Your run will be rejected otherwise. Use the In Game Timer (turn on "Always Display Timer" through settings). Do not block it, the In Game Timer on the Victory Screen, or the Save Icon with alerts or anything (it's in the top right).
Must show the run in full, including before when the in-game timer starts and the Victory screen at the end.
God Mode is not allowed.
Times are always rounded down to the nearest second. eg "48.92 seconds" is still to be submitted as "48 seconds". In cases where the Victory Screen is different to the In Game Timer, the Victory Screen will take priority.
Must be played on latest live version of Hades available at the time.
The only mod allowed in Unmodded runs is the Colorblind Mod available on the Resources tab, with the condition that SpeedrunMode is enabled in the config (which it is by default). Information on how to install the mod is available in the Guides tab.
Macros and Turbo bindings are banned. You may use 3rd party tools to bind multiple buttons to a single action, but you may not bind a single button to multiple actions.
Runs on emulators will not be valid. Wine and Proton are compatibility layers, rather than emulators, so Linux runs will still be valid.
The "free pass" on win 10 shall not be used for any non-freshfile-related or fftc-related runs, since it lets the player bypass the dadfight, which would encourage save-preparation.
Unseeded Rules Show the previous run's death (or a run completion with the death) at the start of the video.
