Standard CRC Challenge Definitions
The following challenge types use CRC's standard definitions. See the Glossary for full details.
Damageless:
- Damage is any loss of your character’s current health, regardless of the source.
- Changes to maximum health are not damage, even if they also change current health or later restore.
Deathless:
- A death is when your character fails in a way that resets progress, typically with a penalty like losing lives, items, or other resources.
Flawless:
- Damageless, Deathless, Glitchless
- [needs further updating]
Hitless:
- A hit is when an NPC or dynamic object makes contact with your character's hurtbox, causing damage or hard crowd control (Hard CC).
- Player-initiated actions that cause damage or movement are NOT hits.
Run Submission Requirements
- Full, unedited video proof is required
- Video and Audio must be clearly visible and audible.
These defaults apply while game-specific rules are under community review.
These rules have been proposed by the community and are under review. They will become official when this game moves to Active status.
- The video must start from the game’s main menu.
- The final results screen shown after the credits must be included in the video, as it displays the scenario, game mode, total time and saves.
- Cosmetic modifications (such as character skins) are allowed as long as they do not affect gameplay and do not include any inappropriate or explicit (NSFW) content.
- Saving is only allowed using the game’s built-in save system. External tools or programs (such as trainers or debug menus) are not allowed. Save files may only be created in case of a crash, and only if the run is being streamed.
- Runs that are not streamed must be completed in a single session, with no saves at all. Hard/Nightmare difficulty modes are exclusive to the PC and Dreamcast versions of the game.
- Major glitches are not allowed.
- Going outside the intended playable area (“out of bounds”) is not allowed.
- FPS must be capped at or below 120fps.
- FPS needs to be displayed during the run (You can activate this in “Steam > Settings > in-game > in game FPS counter) or using Riva tuner.
- FPS settings may not be changed during the run.
- FPS rules only apply to the PC version of the game.
- Loading autosaves is forbidden.
- Graphics Settings may only be changed at Boss fights to allow higher/consistent framerate.
- If graphics settings are changed for Boss fights, it must be visible during the video. If graphics Settings changes are cut from the video, the run will be rejected.
- If chief Irons grabs you in sherry’s section, RUN IS OVER.
- Stair Skating is allowed.
- No Damage and No Hit are completely separated challenges, this should not be confused since they are different runs. No damage implies that the life bar does not drop below 100% at any point in the game and no hit implies other characteristics that are explained in the challenge section of it.
